About the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, or just “Cavalier” for short, falls on the smaller side of the Spaniel family and is considered to be a toy breed. Cavaliers were originally bred for hunting. The sweet nature of these dogs makes them wonderful lap dogs. Since 2000 they have been gaining in popularity in the US, and have now become the 19th most popular pure-breed in the United States.

Cavaliers are known for their silky, smooth coats and their smooth, undocked(intact) tails. They come in four standard colors: Blenheim (chestnut and white), Tricolor (black/white/tan), Black and Tan, and Ruby (red). They tend to be friendly, affectionate and good with both children and other animals. However, they require a lot of human interaction, and it is not recommended to leave these little love sponges alone for extended periods of time. They average between 13 to 18 pounds at maturity, and typically live around nine to fourteen years.

Most of our Cavaliers are 5th-6th generation. We started raising Cavaliers in 2009. Ever since, we have been breeding for health and temperament. Many of our dogs are champions, and ALL are OFA health certified.
